Hawthorn Consultants International LLC has established a joint venture between American investors and Chinese investors in China. HCI provides training programs to established training centers in China. We use American programs that teach American Conversational English. In addition we provide American teachers to the venture.

HCI has grouped together several widely established ESL (English as Second Language) learning programs to develop a powerful networked based training program. The learning programs that we have chosen are all American based and widely used in our school systems to teach ESL students in America.

These programs are installed on the Chinese training center networked based computers so students can access them in the computer labs. Students can check their own progress and work on their own to improve their English pronunication.

HCI also provides the training centers with American English speaking ESL certified teachers. The teachers and helpers conduct classes, test the students and provide guidence at the centers. Tenure at a training center can last from six months to a year and guaranteed by contract.

In October, 2004, HCI along with several company Presidents, visited China to present the proposal to several interested Chinese investors and government officials. The companies included were: HCI, Lexia Learning, Digital Education Productions and CS & C.

We reached initial agreement at that time and our first installation took place on February 28th, 2005. A picture of the entrance to the Bohang Institute along with the negotiating team is below.

HCI will continue to invest and provide training programs for China through Shanghai ShengDuo.
